I think this may be the tip of the decade ! I presume you could also tack with a lazer and then solder ? Got to give this a go !

I tack from the inside when laser welding the connector. I section the bridge using a typical cut off disc....which gives me about a full millimeter of space between the sections.
Then I tack each side of the connector which was cut.....and build it out to where they almost touch when you place the sections on the model. Then begin welding them together
gradually from the inside out. Much stronger weld, and if it doesnt fit for some reason, and cut it again, you can clearly see the laser weld did indeed penetrate 100% through the
connector.
