Does anyone have any ideas on how to use smile design software, ie: Smilecloud, DSD etc and seamlessly integrate it into 3D CADCAM software such as 3Shape Dental Manager?
Our dentist is convinced that the there is a single flow process from digital smile design, through to digital temp design, to guided surgery, to final porcelain creation and insert. We're of the mindset that the smile design software is a patient selling tool, which doesn't correlate to the lab other than to give a nice photo to work from. Can anyone shed some light on who's got the better understanding? Cheers

I would imagine that if DSD can export an STL file you could import that into 3Shape as a waxup or preop, copy it, then do a cutback. With that you should be able to create a temp, facial cutback crown, or attached to a model for a diagnostic model. This is purely based on whether DSD can export a useable STL, and preferably one in occlusion.
