Hello,

I'm ordering RPD metal casting from another company (sending model with wax up and they do the rest) and lately they are having problems:
1. End of the clasps or part of the framework is missing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/iqgu0bw0aeg5xt3/DCc6UrraTnCUgzCMnBfIDw.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/a6yengfy3zyuq0i/pJsuccy%QEOceGfhGzNpng.jpg?dl=0
2. Major connector won't fit correctly on the model, there is space between.
3. Sometimes frameworks are too loose on the model, sometimes normal tightness.

Any suggestions?

Could be several possibilities. Hard to say for sure sorry. But I can help you with making the frames if you want. I'm in Ohio very reasonable.

I'd send somewhere else.
Are that seeing this and letting you know that had a miss cast, or are that just sending it back to you?
We use chromeworks in California and early have issues, but that wax up and cast and finish the whole thing according to out design.

those photos look like under heated alloy and or under heated muffle prior to casting.
did they seriously send those back like that without a word?

Hello,
Not located in US unfortunately, thanks for offering help.
I was thinking of under heated metal or muffle myself but the man says that he is using fully automated casting machine and other frames come out fine except our’s....
Had to make one frame 3 times and still one clasp end was missing. Kind of frustrating.

Looks like “cold” castings to me. They could be having issues with their casting machine or just pulled a steno bum off of the street? It’s unbelievable that they would send that to you. I work at a lab that specializes in cast frameworks. Just my opinion.

I would agree these are short casted. Could be the rings aren’t heat soaked for long enough at temperature for them to be evenly expanded, or the alloy heating, or even as simple as the initial “whip” not being fast enough. I sized to use an electric casting machine, didn’t like it and went back to the ancient broken arm. If these are sent back to you, I would look for another lab

Well, you decided with the title it was a casting error. Is your thickness thick enough? How do you know it's not lifting off the model in the box between you and them?
