The biggest problem I have with partials is they generally dont fit the model very well, without removing some interferences. Ive been just scanning a blue mousse bite with the partial in place, so the patient doesnt have to give it up. I will try this next time they send one though!

Have them take pickup impressions. Paint the intaglio and all metal with a near imaginary layer of vaseline as a barrier. Wipe with a papertowel even. Then the stone won't stick to the rpd and removes/reseats perfectly.
