Is there any reason why one can't put a lingual rest on an e-max crown for a partial ?

How about a distal dimple for an IC attachment to engage in?

Thanks

TOP TEN REASONS YOU CANT PUT A REST ON AN e.MAX CROWN

10-whats a rest?

9-I am resting.

8-I cant find my carver.

7-Theres not enough room.

6-The patient doesnt wear a partial.

5-I could, but the office would expect more of me in the future.

4-What if I dont do it right. Can I still blame someone else?

3-I could, but it'll cost ya.

2-I forgot to read the script.

1-The Doctor didnt ask for one.

I've always gone with zirconia... Full in the contact areas, layered elsewhere.
I can think of a few reasons not to do it in e.max..

but I can also think of many more reasons not to do e.max hybrids, and we do a crapload of those.. so go figure

I would not put a rest on any GLASS Ceramic only metal or ZrO2. The problem is that if any torque, sharp spot on metal, unsupported glass, etc are going to be areas that can shear very easily.

A Dr and I did try, both with a bit of trepidation, in doing emax for a lower partial case. They were 2 centrals and the partial was a metal lingual type. I left the lingual in full emax, and layered the labials...they lasted about 8 months.

Gentleman, thank you. I appreciate your kind words. I'm on here to learn mostly, but try to help where I can.
Deserved.

Now...does anyone know where former e.max expert 'sixonice' went? Im guessing you know him, Patrick.

Thank you again. No I don't know sixonice that I know of. Although, I plan on getting to know six on draft later tonight.
