I just heard that Nobel is discontinuing Procera and will be using a Kavo software called DXT Studio. I wonder if Procera scanners will run on the DXT Studio software? I heard DXT is based on Exocad.

DTX is a exocad version. Abutments and ASC will be done in DTX/exocad. For hybrid bars and over denture bars the old procera design software will pop up once the case is set up in DTX.

Hasn’t it been this way for a while?

Dtx is just an exocad skin from DAL isn’t it?

This is a sad fact of digital life. If you cannnot see a way to ROI well before 5 years it is not a wise hardware investment.

Sad, but true. Hardware gets left behind as progress continues.

I can understand but believe me there is alternative out there and sometime even better. You should start to check for a plan B.

Now personally i have not heard any rumor about Japan but I know for a valid source that Nobel have cancelled all lab events and training for LAB DAY in chicago, all speaker have been called and canceled, they only gonna have a booth and that it.

For other products I prefer to stay neutral, I am sure someone else on the forum could tell you other milling center for c&b.

I spoke with a Nobel Procera specialist who told me the 2G Procera scanners will run the Dtx software under windows 10.
He says since the 1G (first generation) scanners will not operate under Win 10, they will not run Dtx.

So whats the word on the kavo LS3 scanner? Also, does anybody know some of the main features that have been changed from exocad? Just wanna how “simplified” it is. What exocad modules are included with the dtx pro version?

https://www.nobelbiocare.com/us/en/...err-unveil-dtx-studio--a-single--digital.html

http://www.dtxstudio.com/ Love how it says in the bottom right(edit for stupidity) Left it's for release in 2018 and that it's not yet 510k compliant or for use in the US. And this website wasn't even live when I checked in May '18.

https://www.kavo.com/en-us/cad-cam/kavo-ls-3-scanner-scanners#technical-details

Check the tech stats. "UP TO 4um" Uh. Under what conditions? A temperature controlled spring supported subslab vacuum lock room? What's the average?

Frankly, for a company that spends so much on marketing, not getting lots of warm fuzzies here.

Im told Nobel pulled the shows to concentrate on new products approved outside US, thus a large gig in Madrid whilst obtaining US Fed product approval.
Iv had the LS-3 Scanner since Nov 18, works well, ZR margins under microscope are fine, software on old Dell pc running dumbed down win10 works, all that being matched in the DTX Studio software is a fraction smarter, new incisal cutbacks ect. We have great support here in Aus and that seems to cover the 2G Labs too.
