Hi! I’ve been printing for implant supported prostheses for a long time with absolute no problems. However, I had problems with 2 recent cases sent from 2 outstanding dentists. Both were RB (BLX) Straumann’s implants. The intra-oral scanning was perfect, Exocad reading of scan bodies perfect , everything went smooth. All pieces used were Straumann’s original ones. The position for the analog insertion was printed wrong on the model , so the prostheses did not fit into mouth. Dentists sent me another scans, scanbodies adaptation were checked with X-rays, and we had the same problem. Only issue I had like this. Other Straumann’s platforms such as RN, WN, RC, NC, absolute no problems . Only with RB. Anyone, please, may help?

What tooth number? It could be a WB, it's the same scan body and same connection, but the platform is different

RB/WB and NT/RT/WT have similar scan bodies, but are in different position.

They were RB for sure. Always ask docs to send implants ref number.

Implants were RB. I double checked with docs about the scan bodies. They even didn’t carry any NT/RT/WT/WB scan bodies.

What's wrong with the placement? Are the crowns not seating fully? BLX can be annoying since both WB and RB components can fit the same implants, and look fine in the lab, but then not fit the patient. I get the type of healing cap and match the components to that.

The crowns are quite "rotated" (more than 60o) in the model and in the patient. It seems the house for the repositional analog is being printed wrongly, with the locks in the wrong position. But only for RB. That´s why it´s strange. I´m using Exocad with latest Straumann library.

How old are your DMEs? That's the first thing I would look at. I think I had to have straumann tech support go in and remove some old DMEs and load in new ones because I ran into some issues. I have learned over the past few years with implant cases if that I run into any issues, I go check the DMEs and almost every time there are new ones and that fixes the issue. It would be super helpful if these implant companies would notify their customers when they put out new implant libraries, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
