Problems with newest Scan App

Hello!

I have a lot of problems with the latest scan app. I see, that the problem is caused in the process where .stl files are created. I have problems with occlusion as it is way off. Also proximal contacts, they are all fine in scan app and exocad, but after milling, there are big caps and I know it is not caused by milling. It all started after the latest dof app update. So I am redoing a lot of works.

Here is another sample. I copied older version from my other computer and redid the matching process with the same scanned data... The software version is very bad. I was able to correct some of the earlier work with the older scan app, so the problem is definitely the new version. On the pictures purple is the scan data aligned with older software and the other one is with the newest.

I told DOF this weeks ago! They still have not fixed it? lol

I visited DOF at IDS and actually got no reasonable answer. They suggested me to change settings (see pictures) in the application instead of realising the sotf itself is buggy. I basically have to test and drive the settings to find the correct values. I think I am going with amann girrbach new scanner. I tested it and the occlusion was every time perfect in exocad. With DOF there is always intrusion or other problems in virtual articulator and I have to modify it. I am scanning with articulator so there cant be caps or intrusions in there. The DOF scanner is good but software is garbage. I have had many problems also before with other versions. Too bad I have suggested the scanner to others, but no more. Over and out.

I have the exact same problem. I thought sometimes the contact were from less precise scanbody,I guess not. The maching for oclusion is very bad. I also use the base plate and the same. To much work for nothing. Thanks a lot

Before, they were very good updating and fast.. Now they need a little more time 🤔

So I need older version of the software. Does anyone have older than 2.5.433.581 (you can just zip the folder and I can overwrite the current one)? This version is also not good. Every additional scan makes the scan data warp... so at the end I have models that are incorrect.

Have you contacted DOF support? There is a way to revert to older versions of the software via xml files. Or ask Henry on FB.

I've had a couple of instances where I received a pop up informing me that there was a new version of scanapp and would I like to update, both times I've had all the folders on my desktop deleted permanently. Support was quick to try and fix it but in the end I guess they were scratching their heads and unable to figure it out and abandoned the situation. I was informed that it isn't a scanapp issue, curious why all the sh1t hits the fan when I click to update the app. Overall not impressed with support. I'm left with repointing scanapp to exo etc so that I can carry on. I've downloaded the latest version and installed manually and yes I've noticed occlusions being off and contacts being tight. If I overclose the arches by a couple of clicks and then reduce the bite by another 0.2 to 0.3 I can still end up with high bites sometimes and fine others. Adjusting contacts 0.0 to 0.1 gives me mixed results as well. Can't seem to find a consistent workflow that is bullet proof.

What version is everyone running?

I'm running 2.2.251.477 and I keep getting an update notification.
If I click update, nothing happens.
I see on the webpage there is download for 2.5.445.590

I was told once by a reseller that if you have a working version of ScanApp keep it.

Well that is not very encouraging to hear.
I thought I did my homework when I bought the DOF scanner.

IMO nothing wrong with the scanner, but who ever is developing the software is in left field.
Some updates are great some not so much. I got tired of going back to a previous version when I got a stinker.
I'm on the same version as you. It does everything I need.

I can give you the old vers of dof scanapp if you can give me your email.
