We are considering placing boxes outside all of the offices so we don't have to go inside. Nothing in stone yet, just a thought.

The blood work labs have a steel lock box bolted to the concrete outside their client's offices for after hours pick up.

After all the hurricanes that came ashore in my part of Florida in 2004 we had a run on aesthetic cases that lasted a while.

So maybe there's hope after the sickness

Good idea! I have that already implemented. Mine are all painted brown and I used the letters UPS (Urgent Prosthodontic Service). I got them placed all over the US, which is very convenient for my clients...

My feeling is when we hopefully start start up again in September, the economy will be in very poor shape. People will have taken out loans just to survive and dental work will be far from their minds. This will take a long time to rebound back to any semblance of what it was before. Maybe a year or two. I think a lot of the techs laid off will not be rehired. The lab industry will change forever.

Sounds dismal, but I can't really disagree.
Always good to have an optimistic outlook, but it rarely matches reality. Plan accordingly

Et tu, Brute?

You guys need to work on your state of mind.
Prison is an opportunity to lift weights and read. Some of you have accepted the prison of your mind but are wasting the opportunities it provides.

When theres an actual time to panic, Ill be the first to tell you. This is a bump in the road. Man up.

No panic here and prepared a contingency plan for a bump or two in the road after 2004 & 2008. Yet I'm still a realist and firmly planted in this odd dimension. If local labs go tits up, I'm ready to pick up some extra client's and probably put someone else to work as well. We shall see when this socialist experiment/holiday ends...

At Home Depot this morning they had it down to one entrance and one exit, keeping count on phone apps of how many came in and left.

They do that here too, but im talking hundreds of people. Over the course of the day, 1000s probably. License plates from CA, NV, WA, UT, MT. None of the workers wearing masks, very few patrons wearing masks, or they have on ski clavas, old quilting scraps, and painting masks with 1/2" gaps on the sides.. Im trying not to be skeptical, but this has been going on for over a month now, and we have 4 cases here.. when is it coming? and is it really spreading that fast?

I really like that idea , it’s something I have brought up to boss and office manager more than a few times prior to covid
Imo - no brainer 🧠

Oh I get it, I'm in liberal MN, when about a week and a half ago our governor proclaimed something like 9,000 to would die if we didn't go all out in our compliance. That number was changed, backtracked the next day

We've had 70 deaths so far.
I also heard last week that N.Y.?was including in their death toll those who had covid when they died, but that it wasn't the main cause of death. I'm not trying to be a naysayer that this isn't the real deal, it is, but it will be interesting to see what we, they all come up with when it's over.

As labs do we know of anything yet that has been mandated towards us? Right now I use cardboard boxes to deliver my cases. Do you think I should preemptively go to plastic so I can let my accounts know that I wipe them down with Cavicide before I deliver the case. Or, is that a moot point if I'm not wearing gloves when I deliver the box?

I know the Dr's are getting hit hard with the guidelines and changes they need to make. Do we have anything in writing or on YouTube regarding labs yet?

Maybe Alex of O'Brien Dental Lab will make us another informative video :)
