Does any one have flash cards or a power point or something along the line of training someone new to implants? Looking to train them to identify the more common and uncommon implant company types and sizes. Their job is mainly creating orders in 3 shape and doing the scanning.

Thanks!

Implant identification training you say? Why we have multiple threads that would help with that!

Just search for the word "Implant" and check the box for 'search titles only'. If there is a box for 'search this forum only' make sure it's unchecked.
Here's the first few, there's multiple pages. Not all are implant ID, some are for scanning help or other issues.

Don't miss the biggie:

Say, did you see the Implant Primer? (toot toot, blush)
There is one error in it. The image designated as a Temp Cylinder is showing UCLA abutments.

We have a compatibility chart that shows names, sizes, and colors for many of the implants. If that would help please email me at [email protected]

People ask me all the time how do you know what implant is made by whom? I say 17 years of experience. It is hard to train someone. I think it just comes naturally as you do it more often. Cross fit, tri lobe, conical, internal hex, external hex, Bicon, sargon, straumann, Nobel Biocare, MIS, Zeramax, implant direct. Then 3rd party Tru abutment, Glidewell, Elos, Medentika, Nt Trading, Open implants, Blue sky.

SON OF A BITCH!!!! As the newbie pulls his hair out of his head.

The easy parts are simple to learn, Impression coping, Analog (implant replica),Soft tissue (Duh),Temp Cylinder, Abutment, Custom abutment, Ti abutment, Zr abutment. Gold hue (anodize),MUA, UCLA (gold adapt) etc, hada hada hada!

They need to be by your side all the time for like 5 years lol.

Amen. Ain't nothin' to it but to do it, honestly. And just when you start to get comfortable, some doc gets suckered by some reseller into buying some POS implant system that isn't even compatible with CAD/3Shape. Those are fun to deal with!

Intermediate tip from experience, you see a zimmer Eztetic implant, it's not getting done digitally. Not anything pretty, anyway.

All I do is train. I don’t get paid to train

All right, all right... first off, send them to Argen for training. Have them study root form.
Contact your reps to come out and train. Nobel is sending our new guy today.
Have him learn wax/cast basics, emax structure basics.

Teach them to check in/grind in abutments... when they have to do it, suddenly no one has to do it

Would you please elaborate on the Eztetic implant comment? These seem to be a favorite of my docs.

Prepare for misunderstanding, gnashing of teeth, wailing of babes in arms, and eventually them understanding you're not just being recalcitrant.
Then they start screaming at the OS until they stop using the stupid things.

So it'll get better "soon".
