Hello all,
I have a patient that had an implant placed at Newport naval base years ago and we can't figure out what it is. Ruled out all the current popular name brands and a few experienced implant reps can't help...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you! Dr. is calling the patient in tomorrow so I can go take a look but it looks like a match.

Thanks a bunch

Looks like Branemark wide platform. The internal star is called "stargrip" and is used only for the fixture mount.
Nobelbiocare 800-993-8100.

It seems we have one more contender!

In the original pic, above, you can see what would be the hex part of the implant. Due to the low res it is not really visible, but possible. I dont know for how long Neoss has been around, but if the pt got his implant placed many years ago, on.a Naval Base, chances are it is an old Branemark WP, as shown in the pictures above.

May the OP shed some light on this conundrum!

Having been around this for a while, my money is definitely on what Darwin suggested.
In fact, that was my first impression when I read the first post because the exterior of the
part was not a rounded platform of an implant, but part of an external hex.
As usual, the PA/xray already settled that question, won't bother to try Neoss parts.
