RIP Leslie West. I saw Mountain once when they opened for Deep Purple.

Wow, that must have been quite a concert.
I didn't hear about Leslie Wests passing.
He passed yesterday after having a heart attack Monday. He was a fantastic guitar player.
Yes it was a great concert, especially from the front row. I'm not bragging, but that is the only time we've ever been in the front row.

Was Ritchie Blackmore still in the band?

No, this concert was in 2005 at an amphitheatre in Portsmouth Va. He was with them the first time I saw them in St Louis in 1974. That was the very first concert I ever went to.

'74 They were at their peak. I remember that strange smell for the first time.

I guess his pacemaker gave out.
Actually, that's what happened. I was in the car a few minutes ago and heard that he had a pacemaker put in a couple of years ago, and he died from a heart attack.

Wow, art imitating life.
Mick Jagger should be careful around unstable mountain sides.
