The ear picks up when a sound changes and this week the model trimmer motor sounds like it’s running twice the speed.
I see they mention to lube the bearings. Haven’t done anything for thirty years. Not sure where to do this.
Any Other ideas? Or clues on what I here?
There’s time to do some maintenance now.

Update : Talked to a Mac giver buddy of mine. Found the two weep holes (unmarked) and juiced it up.
Sounds fine now. Time will tell...... Back to regular broadcasting....😷 Beer 😅

Pictures please, so we'll all know where to look when ours start making noises, or maybe even preventive maintenance.

Here’s what I’ve got. See the arrows. The trick was, how to get the oil in the tiny hole. I used an old cap from super glue
bottle we all have, blew it dry, and used the ‘ol finger tip on the straw trick to get the oil into the cap.
Poked the rear hole with a wire and found some dusty sponge debris that my friend says should be in there to help feed the oil over time. The motor you see was not that clean when I started.
I would oil it now if you have never done so. May save from burning the brgs out.
I’ve fixed a lot of stuff before but this one stumped me. You’re never too old to learn something new!Stupido2

Interesting. I have the same model trimmer and never realized that those little plugs pulled out. What did you use for oil?

The manual says SAE 10. Had some 10W30 so that’s what I used. Dontknow
There were No plugs in mine. That’s why I was thinking there was maybe a screw down the hole. Not so.

Mine has little metal plugs in the holes. Just pressed in.

The motor plate on mine says to use SAE 10 or electric motor oil, whatever that is.

UPDATE.. Got a new wheel delivered and installed today. Also gave it another drink of oil.
It sounds like new. My guess is, the wheel somehow was no longer true? But some oil after
thirty years couldn’t hurt either.
