soooooooooooooooo, i has an issue.
not that kind of issue. ok i have lots of issues, but im talking a denture case issue!

got a denture case, Dr set up. said it had a an acrylic base....guess what, it had a shellac baseplate....which after the jetwash (boilout) created a nasty melted film on the palate

help? i was thinking acetone maybe? other options?

I really don't know what I'm talking about, but I think acetone may be a bit strong for shellac and maybe you should use something like mineral spirits or lacquer thinner?

Just speaking from experience spilling acetone on shellacked furniture.

Maybe denatured alcohol? I think that’s the solvent for shellac flakes.
