Hi all, lab owner here (Cutting Edge Prosthetics, LLC) looking to reach out to the best lab community to help fill a critical role as our master ceramist is wanting to enter retirement as he approaches 70. Our gross lab revenue has grown 4x since we started up as a two man team 6 years ago and I'm looking for a partner to help me as a senior lab technician/master ceramist. It's a critical position that I'm willing to pay very well for and my expectation is that we continue to grow in our success together. We are currently a 5 person lab, just moved into a new commercial space, have invested in quality mills and 3D printers, and work primarily with Exocad. We have significant experience in digital workflows and fabrication, 80% of our clientele are using intra-oral scanners and we have started photogrammetry for model-less workflows. Starting pay would be between 90k-120k based on skill/set production, year-end bonus income, potential move compensation, paid holiday/vacation, IRA stock matching, we can negotiate based on what you can bring to the table. At the end of the day, I'm looking for someone that wants to commit to a great opportunity with our focused and friendly team (we really do have a great team),you treat us generously and we will do the same for you.

Skills needed:

* High level knowledge of tooth morphology
* Highly esthetic fit and finish of Zirconia/Emax restorations, including full arch hybrids with porcelain gingiva esthetics
* Skill with porcelain build/up and layering ( these cases are infrequent as we are 80% full contour zirconia and 15% emax)
* Miyo stain and glaze system preferred

Skills appreciated but not critical

*Computer use proficiency with mouse and hotkeys in Windows OS and 3D CAD environments, including design in Exocad/3shape, 3D printing/nesting, CAD/CAM nesting and mill operation.

Please DM me if this sounds like the opportunity you are looking for, I will give my phone contact information so we can have a genuine conversation regarding both our needs and benefits. Thank you!

Hey Grantoz, absolutely no basements lol. Giant 7' tall windows with plenty of light! We are proud to be high quality technicians and want our work environment to reflect that!

Hey Affinity and Grantoz, thanks for the well wishes from you both. Yes I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat concerned with finding someone as it appears quite difficult with finding what is obviously a very specialized position and having someone move here, at least we are fortunate to live in a desirable city. I have trained our new hires from the ground up as well, but I don't have a high end ceramic skillset myself ( I do our full arch designs and business management) and my business partner is starting to have some health issues and he is the only qualified candidate to teach high level ceramics. Our other ceramist is a natural artist but does not have his skill set up enough to have the confidence to be a master ceramist, he is very talented but still new. I'd like to bring a master on the team to help him develop his skills further and have two excellent ceramists as solid foundation, adding a 3rd newer higher that can train underneath them in the near future. I hope you both are having success in your own businesses!

mitonic i would send your staff member to the zirkonzahn training centre in Bruneck and say you need him to be trained in whatever you want they will help you with that. it costs a bit but if you have the right people its well worth it ive sent myself and 3 other staff members there over the years some was standard training some was customised they can do either it will be less expensive and more rewarding for your team rather than bringing in some hi end ceramist if you build your own they will also share with other team members. Kimba has also trained there he learnt how big your hangover can be and still go to the course it was Truley inspirational

That's pretty neat, just took a look at their courses. A little confusing as they have 5 different named courses, knowing which would be the best fit might be tough, maybe I could email them and inquire more. But since you've gone personally and advocate for it says a lot about the course quality. Is it easy enough to learn and get by with English? I may consider going myself, I'm no ceramist but it might be worth exposing myself more to this world, I've thought about it more recently but just never seem to get the time to add that skillset to my work plate. Thanks for that suggestion Grantoz!

Hi Matt. I know you are not looking for a digital denture designer at this time. But please let me know or you can send me an email [email protected] if you want to outsource some digital denture cases to. Thanks!
