Hello all,
Just today, I have started toying with the idea of starting a lab from home, starting with just crown and bridge, and maybe appliance design services, and possibly growing if I can get some decent business. I thought I would just see if anyone out there has done such a thing and if it would be a worthwhile endeavor. I'm sure it would have to start out small, as a sort of side job, and see where it went from there. If anyone has any input, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
Cholmberg.

I did it for two years, and was not a fan of the fact all my cases were sent to me at 5pm and expected to be designed by 8 in the morning next day. This isn’t much an issue if you get just a couple designs, but I found a lot of people were just using it for overflow, so there would be nights I’d get like 50 to 60 units I’d have to design, in addition to working my regular lab job during the day. So it was difficult to balance with a full time job, but wasn’t consistent enough to rely on as a sole source of income.

Also, I completely forgot to mention, if you are still interested in giving it a go, I’ve got a 3shape crown and bridge dongle for sale.

years back I had a set up at home for porcelain side work / found my work /home life balance suffered tremendously
