Hello, I am currently working for an orthodontic lab and we have been using solder but have an interest in using laser welding instead. What are the current welding machines you guys use? I would appreciate any information on your experiences or any feedback you have heard from other labs about their use of laser welding machines.

bego laserstar, which isnt made by laserstar, actually a coherent desktop.

same one we use all the time too.
It's crazy, I was really on the fence of buying one at the time because we were half way decent at soldering but man, what a game changer laser welding is. The laser weld done correctly is stronger than the metal itself, haven't had one clasp or partial anything ever break...amazing. Plus, it really saved my six a few times on large cases with metal substructures. The old saying goes, you just don't know till you do ...this machine was that for us.

The technology is amazing and so precise.. im loving the laser descalers people are using for restoring old cars and stuff..

The very old BEGO LASERSTAR were built by the company FOTONA and were identical to the FOTONA WL-40.

Bego. Have had mine for 30 years

A friend is having trouble finding a replacement flash lamp.
Do you know where to get one?

My same bulbs have been working for over 20 years. I heard that a company in England carries them but you need to buy some ridiculous quantity of 10 at a time. I just keep my fingers crossed that I get another 10 years out of them

The Orion LZR Series has been the most popular by Sunstone welding. We do carry the Bego LaserStar T Plus as well. If you would like help making a decision or would like a quote, call Harris at 612-623-4300 and ask for Suzy
