I am selling my KaVo to buy a bigger mill. It was a very fun experience for me to play with 5-axis programming.

Includes:

One Everest CNC mill (Engine)
KaVo cabnit
IBH Automation controler in cabnit
Chamber coolant pump and all hardware
Monitor keyboar and mouse
Many fixtures, including KaVo twin 98mm disk holder
A few unused disks of round Titanium (I used rectangles for my testing)
KaVo White light scanner and computer and CAD software (Probably not the most recent version of scanner, but the software has a few cool tricks)

This mill does work with a 3shape scanner!

Many tools for metal and eMax and Zirconia. I have empress blanks and a handful of eMax, and tons of KaVo style Titanium for their backfilling method.
I never tried any of that backfilling technique. Only physical sprues.

Machine can be seen running at my lab anytime.

$19k plus shipping if I have to crate it. Please direct any and all questions to PM if possible.

Scott

Oh, i have only a 3M Sintering oven to throw in the deal.
It works fine with most all Zirconia. (So I heard. LOL)

Comes with trays and extra elements and sintering ballzzz.

So why the sell. Doesnt mill accurate, cant get the Cam to work with it....... Gotta be more than just buying a new mill to get rid of 5 axis that's perfectly usable. Please do tell.

Does it come with Cam from cimsystems as well? Cause we might be interested.

It is a very accurate mill. Made from ROCK. Nothing is wrong with it and I'll be glad to show ya. Bring a check and I'll tell ya all.

I am keeping the SUM3D CAM and Dongle. Sorry. Buyer gets only the KaVo milling style. Nothing really wrong with that.

Actually today I discovered how to modify the existing KaVo templates and tools. I think I found the material folder to erase the used bar-codes as well, so one RfID tag should last a lifetime.

Maybe I'll play with it more over the weekend and change my mind?

Don't know.

I am trying to merge 1999 OpenMind CAM software with 2011 Italian software while using a spindle that rotates on the Z.... on a closed mill. (Turret design)

The change of tools throws a new variable into the mix. It is driving me nutz!

New radius of the rotation of tool on the Z axis makes math complex to adjust.

I need a different design mill to play with. I gained wonderful experience while playing.

I need both rotational tables away from Z-axis.

The KaVo is kinda like a Swiss turning machine with the turret design.
I mean the tool length on the turret is now a new variable (that radius of arc), in addition to the normal 5-axis stuff.

We can manage the machine in only a limited number of ways for now going the "Open" route. I need unlimited range of tooling to work with to cover all my future plans.

That's pretty much it, and we are moving to new location....now I have ceiling to install BIG mill and a thicker concrete floor with big doors to parking lot.

Before, i was limited to any mill that fit into a 34" hole. (normal Door-way)
So, I was looking at Haas Office mill, and anything else that would fit.

Now, I can go bigger. Maybe Haas VF-series with 4th and 5th and 1uM encoders? More machine for the $$! More flexibility and more range of applications. (non-Dental stuff ja'know)

Does that answer your question?

SOLD!!

I bought it back from myself just today. I talked the guy down a bit too!

I have been going mental trying to figure out this puzzle, and persistance paid off.

We are back in business with plans to do Four or more tools of ANY LENGTH.

I had issues when we started to throw in longer and shorter tools.

This weekend, I learned the ins and outs of the KaVo software and now I understand how to adjust the radius of tip of tool of the rotating turret.

This is crucial data needed to calculate anything other than 3-axis milling.

It is unique to the KaVo, because most CNC 5-axis in the Dental relm have the two rotational axis NOT part of the Z-axis or spindle assembly, but rather down on the bed somewhere.

I am tweeking CIMSystem post processor output for the KaVo.

Really didn't want to go this far, but it was what I wanted.
I am hard-headed!

I now have reinshaw laser tool calibration for diameter of tool while spinning, Z-offset, and radius of tool on B-axis working, and I know it for sure now. WHoopie-Doo-dOo-Day. No way a human can calibrate a 5-axis for every tool change manually and make a profit. That's what I have been doing all month. Setting tools up with a piece of paper while jogging the Z axis 10uM at a time. I was going so insane doing that, that I freaked out and sat down and figured out another way. Took Two days. Now, a monkey can do it. Which is what I am.

I knew there was NO WAY you would sell it!!!!!!!!!!

It would of driven you mad thinking it had beaten you Lol

I have another complete KaVo Everest. (Paint Job extra...anything you want.)

Includes scanner and bench and same as first one above.

$20k. Plus $1000 for delivery to East Coastish area. We bring 1 ton crane hoist and other stuff to move the Engine. We stay one day for just Engine....maybe Three days for purchase with CAM software.

I am still keeping my Orange one.

This will be a regular closed KaVo that can import open stl files, but you are limited to how you can make them. SUM3D is an extra $9k to allow you to use any Zirconia. It can run Five or Six mills with only one paid seat of software. No need for future CAM if buying another mill.

Scott.

SUM3D is an extra $9k That is soooooooooooo cheap!!!!!!!!! can I use the sum3d at two different sites at the same time (have two labs 60miles apart) or do you just get one dongle so can only mill on one machine at any one time. And could you help set me up remotly?

If anyone wants to keep the KaVo software but still wants to mill any Zirconium on the Everest then PM me as I know a man that can convert the files to open up your machine.

your everest engine, how many mills use, 2 o4?

Hi Vito, I think this is aimed at Scott but dont understand what you are asking, How many mills use?

Ciao Vito,

Scott

Good morning,
sud3d you are aware, but I will not spend any more money.
I sell it because I have not the right organization in the laboratory.

sum3d for kavo everest

Who uses SUM3D with kavo everest?

me.

I change my KaVo to mill Zirconia dry, and in Four Axis only.

It is fast. We use it everyday.

Scott

can you post a couple of pictures of the vacuum inlet inside the mill please scott?
id love to see how you have converted it.
