Do you glaze your crowns directly on the honycomb?

Yes, unless of course it's a porcelain margin or an All-Ceramic. Most my crowns, including the ones in the pictures have very thin metal margins.

I always do, even with crowns w/o metal margins. Try it, and let me know what you think.

I have so many types of pegs for every kind of crown and there is always that one that never stays put. Ill try this, save me some headaches. I tried using a pillow once but was worried about the pillow soaking in the heat lowering the high temp. plus it always left crap stuck to the porc after it was baked.

...I did too, but the feathers caught fire and blackened the inside of my muffle and left a black haze around the front of the door...

Refractory material isn't gonna last as long as a honeycomb tray will.
