Must a dentist take an X-ray after cementation of posterior monolithic Zirconia crown or is it optional?

Optional, 2d x-ray is not very reliable to confirm fit.

optional but its a must IMHO because it will give the best insight of marginal integrity

All depends on the ethics of the dentist but more importantly WHAT DOES THE INSURANCE COMPANY REQUIRE FOR DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS.
