Is this Ivoclar product intended to compete with GC Lustre and InSync pasted?

Yeah, I think that's what they had in mind. I've got a GC lustre paste review in the works. I found this one to be a bit more user friendly than the GC kit. Although I really like the 'staying' power of the GC stains. They don't run at all... Which subsequently makes them less user friendly.

It's all a matter of preference.

Here's a tip,
don't throw out your low fusing powder stains from other systems.

That's a great tip actually! Would you mind if I used it on other social media platforms?

Go for it. I've been using those powders with gc for years.
I think Patrick must have suggested it to Ivoclar so he owes me the pickled herrings.

thanks for the review. ive been using GC stains for nearly 4 years now, but was hoping for something new and better to come along. interested to see your review on GC too. (i dont use the GC lustre paste glaze, too grainy)
a few questions....
any time line on reviewing the GC lustre pastes?
will ivocolor correctly hit the darker side of the vita classic shade ranges with ease, or does it require lots of continual mixing of colors? (A3.5,A4, B3,B4, C3,C4, D3,D4)

No definite timeline on the GC review, it's a popular system so I want to make sure the review does it justice. You've hit the nail on the head with the graininess of the glaze though.

I feel ivocolor has been one of the better systems I've used when it comes to maintaining color depth and intensity. Shades are pretty much bang on after the first firing so long as you follow the chart.

The reason it's grainy is because it's a micro ceramic and not a glaze.
That graininess can work to your advantage when using gc as a liner.

To eliminate the granular texture try drawing it like you do your paste opaque.
Mix it better!.

Ok, if the GC is a micro ceramic and other glazes arent, what are they?
