With 3Shape, and probably with Exocad? you can flip the prep image over, upside down, to try to help in seeing a margin line, at least a little different view. It's helped me a couple of times. It's not going to make up for a bad I/O scan, but it may help a bit.

A converted Omnicam file (prep scan) rotated, and in that view, it does look like and impression scan.

Maybe, maybe not.
I was able to change my " pick the best one" Drs into good IOS Drs.

I know this is possible, but you were willing to change your ways, most will fail even after years of use. It is ones way of thinking. Only you can make your self better.
