I believe you are correct. We just were not sure. Thanks for the help.

Yes, the blue color also confirms it.

3i certain is an internal connection. Your abutment on the picture is and external connection. So I cannot be 3i certain

My apologies...this is a 3i Osseotite external hex 4.1 implant. We have parts for this too.

I would look at this document since the blue color on external hex could also be Branemark 5.0 WP or BioHorizons External Hex 5.25. This can help with measuring the diameter and depth to determine which one it may be.

The last time I checked, Steri-Oss did not have that option for 12 position/half hex option in their abutments.
right?

The 3i external parts are not color coded inside. They were gold hue on the exterior, but they didn't make the internal portions colored. The color coding was a Certain/Internal connection feature. This may have changed recently, and I could be full of it, but if this restoration is more than say, 5 years old, its not a biomet part. Not saying that I know what it is either... 12 point hex would tell me that the part is a preangled stock abutment, thats about as far as I get.

If it was me, I would separate the parts, and try that abutment on a 3i analog to see if it fits. If it all lines up and the screw engages well, this exercise is all academic, and you can treat it as a 4.1mm ex-hex 3i...
