Washington—The Internal Revenue Service is offering special tax relief and assistance to individual and business taxpayers in Presidential Disaster Areas affected by Hurricane Sandy, which stormed ashore to create havoc Oct. 28-31 as Superstorm Sandy. The IRS expects to grant additional filing and payment relief as qualifying disaster declarations are issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
