Hey all,
I have exocad and a DOF Freedom scanner, how can I take just a bite scan without having to scan any of the arches because I already have those as stls.
Thanks!

isnt bite scan your first scan? (serious question as i do not have a dof)

I either have to put into exocad what I'm doing and then I open DOF and it wants me to scan the upper, then lower, then bite. Or I open the scanning software on it's own and I don't see an option from just a bite.

I tried to just do the bite scan first, it will let me, but it won't let me save that as an stl

I have the same equipments. First re open the patient’s file and it will ask you to open the back up. Say yes and you will see the option of scanning the bite the last thing at the bottom.

If my scan tech didn’t scan the bite right then I usually create a new case and label it with patient name-BITE (John Doe-BITE)
Then select any single tooth and call it an Adjacent. Then one stone model only to scan. When you go to scan mount the model in proper occlusion and scan it. Then I’ll import that into the design and align everything.

Just use the DOF scan app, without exocad! Import your bite scan as an extra .stl

Correct indicating as antagonist or adjacent will let you scan anything and save it as anything. Beauty of exocad.

This!

Just do a manual scan of both jaws in occlusion and save that.

Then in your exocad case, go into expert > tools > add meshes > select "Bite Scan" / "Occlusion Scan" and load the file

When going back into wizzard mode it will automatically start scan alignment of your existing scans to the loaded Occlusional scan.

Yea I think it’s called scanapp expert, it allows you to choose a variety of scan types like copy denture, might be in the DOF folder not the desktop if someone set it up for you
