Hi,
Any tips on how to fabricate tooth #2 implant crown to replace #2 crown that was used as a distal retainer for retentive clasp on an existing RPD?
No rest seats involved here, only existing buccal and lingual clasps
Only have implant#2 in mouth so I cant use old crown to help me.
Patient needs RPD to wear so can't send to lab.
Thanks

Use a pickup impression to record the clasps, as long all the impressions (or scans) are accurate, the lab can take care of the rest ;)

I do a lot of my own lab work- How do you avoid fracturing the stone model at the clasp part?
Thanks

How is 2thm8kr?

Have the doctor put the partial in place and ensure it is fully seated. If there isnt an abutment in place already, have them put in the impression coping. Then have them squirt blue mousse bite registration material around an impression coping or abutment making sure they capture the clasps of the partial fully. Once you have the model poured up, you can scan the impression of the partial on the model as a waxup to replicate where the clasps are when you design the crown.
