I recently updated to Exocad 3.2, designed some cases, and found that some of my clients can no longer open the designs I send as they are using a previous version. I know in 3shape its easy enough to export to a previous iteration of the program, is there any such equivalent in exocad?

exocad has backwards compatibility, meaning if you make a .dentalcad file in Matera you can still open it in Rijeka. what you can't do is the other way around, files made in Elefsina 3.2 can't be opened in anything less.

currently no export option allows older version compatibility.

Understood, its easy enough to load in the previously made designs as waxups, remark the margins, and go from there. That being said, does 3.2 allow for any form of margin selection export? Margin remarking is tiring in bulk, I'm guessing not but maybe someone more savvy than I knows a workaround

Save the bottom of crown and bring in as generic visualization mesh as a guide on where margin was marked

A couple ideas, well if I understood your problem.
In a .dentalCAD scene you can go top right and save .scaninfo. This might do the trick, your client only needs to open the .dentalproject with "DentalCADapp.exe" and not the scene that you have created, he'll probably be able to see the margin as a green line and you could save your design in stl that he can import as generic. You can also open .constructioninfo or .scaninfo in exocad viewer. It's quite technical but possible.
For exemple here, I just started a scene and set my margin line then saved and closed.
My dental cad automatically saves the .scaninfo but you can do it by hand.
I opened it in exoviewer 3D, it asks to open or not the .dentalproject, say yes and this is what I get. You can see the margin line.

Hope it helps.
Oh and don't change names of files or their coordinates or it won't work.

Sure wish I had thought to do that the other day, clever

That answers a whole other question I had been wondering, I received data with the margin already drawn with that same texture line and was wondering how they managed that. Neat. Thanks guys
