Hello, I have Exocad 3.2 Elefsina and the old version from 2016 too, my question is what is the best way to upload a new bite to already scanned situation? I work with young doctors mostly, most of them are new and it's frustrating because they all want to send impressions to the lab and get back already finished teeth the next time..the problem is that they take bad co regs and some cases the occlusion is like 1-2mm off (you need to grind down to be okay), so sometimes they grind down themselves and send it back to glaze or polish, mostly to glaze and it's the worst thing if you need to take a bridge off cement, glaze it ant cement it back..so now I'm thinking I might send them pmma, they will grind it down to whatever the real hight is, bite it with silicone and send it back - then I could add new vestibular scan (both models in co with new reg), align the new position and mill it from a zirconia blank and glaze it the next day, so I will know that the hight is correct for sure. Sounds nice, but I have never aligned models successfully, I watched whatever I could find on yt, and it's quite complicated..isn't there really a better way to do that? It seems that it would be way easier just to rescan everything, because it's ridiculous how much work it is to align one new scan and the 2016 version is buggy, but the new one might be good, I tried it today just to play around and I could not get it to do what I want, I added new scan, uploaded it, it was in the wrong place, I tried to position it freely as best I could, but ofc it's not accurate and I can't make it accurate, because the whole point of uplaoding new model is that I need that new position..ended up just duplicating scans and starting from scratch..so my question is - how to upload a new postion properly? because I might be doing something wrong..also another question - how often do you add new scans and align models?

Expert:Tools:Add/remove mesh

use the dropdown to select Bite Alignment Scan

once its loaded click OK and EXIT EXPERT MODE you will go straight into aligning the jaw scans with the bite scan.

i wouldn't do that tbh, i would be looking at the original data and cleaning up floaters and surfboards in the scans.

Are you printing models for these cases or doing them modelless? We sometimes print models, set the bite, and scan the bite using the printed models.
We've considered Bite Finder but so far have been 2 cheap. Is it worth it for a small lab? Do you use it on every/most cases or only when needed?

You try it out. They offer a few free cases for free.

Thx everyone, I tried it out, it does work, I can align my models now, it's not perfect, but at least now I know how. Also new questions - how often do you use it and another thing - isn't way more simple to just save the .stl, create new case scan everything and add .stl as a waxup? I mainly do zr and other fixed cases
