Exocad - 3d printed model system

How are you all mounting your 3d printed models? I'm used to stone models. The 3D printed hollow models feel flimsy and allow for a little flex when checking the occlusion. I think we may do more solid models.

I also saw this was being used for 3shape. https://shop.core3dcentres.com.au/3shape-articulator.html
Is there something similar for Exocad?

We print our models hollow and then mount using plastic ball articulators. Have not had a problem yet with contact or occlusion.

iTero has an articulator similar to the one that you posted from Core3d. https://shop.itero.com/products/itero-articulator

Thanks. Do you know if there are Exocad model library that could accompany it?

In our exocad we do hallow and in slicing software you can do hallow on the inside but all outside walls are solid.

Your reseller should be able to send you the file for the attachments. Make sure your model height is 38 mm not 40 though.

Interesting for sure. What I took away from it was just buy more resin because you will be wasting more by trying to save more.

I switched to solid models. I noticed there was always uncured resin that gets trapped on the inside of the hollow model when I would remove them from the build plate. Just decided to shorten the models a tad and do solids. It has been much better for me. Using a little bit more resin but not much.

I design mine hollow with a removable die. Then I use the ginguval mask feature to die trim a little more so it doesn't ditch out the adjacent tooth contacts from a larger ditch. Then after it's all merged I cut off the opposing model and tissue. The I save the scene as an STL. That way I have a nice trimmed margin on a solid model.
