a new foundry has been opened in France. Opened as of Sept 2019.
this factory will be able to recycle some kinds of titanium waste such as swerf or chips but with steep requirements as to condition of their cut, and the storage, and the age. titanium cut with coolant-infused water will continue to be impossible to recycle (into the same grade as before, at least)
titanium cut via cryogenically cooled tooling will be able to be recycled so long as the chips have not come into contact with other metals (for example, using tools that have already been used to cut other metals) and have been stored in pure water after collection.
