Does E.max Dentin Addon bond to zirconia with HeraCeram Zr Adhesive?

Hello there!

I've got a bit of a situation on my hands; I have a 33-37 full contour Zr bridge (35 and 36 being pontics) milled from Everest Multilayer UVS and I need to apply volume to the apex of the pontics for extra gingival pressure, however I've already toned the bridge with biomic stains, so I can no longer apply ZirLiner, since the high temperature of the program will absolutely ruin the stains. I'm looking for suggestions from more knowledgeable and experienced people for a reasonable way to deal with this situation :)
If anyone can answer one of the following questions you'll be of tremendous help, the first most important one being:
- Does anyone know if E.max dentin add-on will bond with the zirconia if I use the Zr Adhesive from HeraCeram?
- Is someone aware how compatible Biomic 3DV and 3DN are with gingival tissue if polished mechanically?

My plan for tomorrow is to try the first option, but obviously would love some confirmation if someone knows for sure that it does or does not work.
Of course a much easier solution would be to just apply some sort of 3D glaze, but I have a feeling the material is not meant for gingival adaptation, again would love if someone can confirm or deny this.
Any other suggestions are obviously welcome, thank you in advance. :)

You could easily use MIYO glaze or structure, try and dehydrate some of the glaze with tissue, tint to desired color & fire...lower or near your previous. Don't be shy, if you over-add then just an easy adj with rubber wheels. Hopefully a nice add to your war-chest 🙂

Cheers mate! I'm assuming the MiYO structure is similar in composition to the 3DV/N glazes of Aidite?

Emax will fuse to any glaze. Especially simple under a no stress area such as a Pontic.
You have just turned a possible challenge into a learning experience.
You never needed zirliner in the first place.

Huge thanks to both of you dudes, I fixed it with Biomic 3DN and it turned out just right, but will definitely grab a MiYO set next year just to have more tools in the arsenal!

zirliner was used when we use to layer ceramic on to coping to give it some depth in color . For full contour you do not need any bonder it will adhere to it with no problem just use a bit higher temp on the add on.

if I am not mistaken, ivoclar discontinued zirliner because everyone figured that out too

The trick to doing a liner on emax or zirconia, but zirconia especially is a hot first bake of thin porcelain/glaze, over 900' for zr is what I always considered standard. Correct me if im wrong.

edit: I shouldve read the above post before repeating others

I did this VERY scientific analysis on liners about 15 years ago. E.max layered on zirconia coping with different liners, except one. I tried to sheer the layering off with a hammer. We basically stopped layering on zirconia, except in challenging situations, but I did this for my presentations when I was teaching courses and layering was the only way to get an esthetic result...
Picture is taken in black light to show the layered e.max against the non reflecting zr coping.
