Do dental lab(s) have enough space to operate an additional business?

Does you lab have room to setup 2+ operatories and a space to use as a classroom?

Hello Dental Lab Network,
I have a question for the dental lab owners and employees out there: how much extra space is available in your dental labs? I sell a business opportunity to dentists that want to use their existing facility to create additional revenue streams. If a dentist has 2+ operatories and an extra room to use as a classroom, we can help him/her open a business that operates when the office is generally closed and has the potential to generate $100,000+/year in passive income.
This is not an ad, and I am not trying to promote the business here. I am just trying to get an idea if dental lab owners would be a potential market for my service. I think most labs would not be suitable for this, but I have been to multiple labs with operatories and large classrooms where they teach product use and provide CE.

Is this the minority of dental labs, or is this more common than I realize? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Regards,
Jeff

First, you will find that most smaller labs (and that is the bulk of all labs) wont have any extra space. I would actually think that quite the opposite is the case.
Second, a 100,000 without doing anything sounds a bit too good to be true...

I had some space upstairs from the lab, not huge, but a couple small rooms. I turned it into a brothel. It's been working out well so far.

I blew the motor in the clown car and I need a new pair of giant clown shoes. I'm hoping to use the brothel money to revive the clown gig.
You should invite Dr Ho

I am not trying to promote a service in any way at all. I am really just curious if ANY (not most) dental labs have this space. Our particular business is leveraging assets that Dentists already own. I never said 100,000 without doing anything. Most importantly, the individual must have an existing space where they could operate this business. Secondly, one day of the week when the business is currently closed. This is the day when this business opportunity would operate. Third, the owner would need to staff the business. If properly staffed, the income generated from operations pays someone to handle the day-today operations. This still leaves the potential for $100,000+ when operated properly.
For a comparison, imagine you own a parcel of land on a major highway. Out of nowhere, someone approaches you about placing a billboard on the plot of land. Out of nowhere, you just created a major cashflow. It is not for everyone, but the entrepreneurial minded individuals have found major success with us.
This is why I am asking the questions - I was curious if the dental lab market is something I should explore. It sounds like the majority of labs are not appropriate, but some may be suitable.

Now THIS is entrepreneurial. Rob understands how to utilize existing resources to create cash flows. If Rob has found the secret to a successful brothel, I would think the lab is nothing more than a cover for the real cash cow upstairs! I think the neighbors are wondering why a small dental lab has so many visitors.

The good labs probably don't have much space because they are really busy, or have already done exactly what you are describing here. I know having a Dentist come in to our lab to any Dentistry is a big no-no from the state I live in. Also, advertising dentistry services directly to patients is another big no-no from my state. As for totally a different business on the same land, not a problem... we only ask that your brothel gives discounts to dental lab techs :p

This is interesting. I have seen many clinicians that are starting Cosmetic (botox) services in extra rooms or operatories. I have also seen a few labs that Hire a hygienist and offer tooth whiting in extra rooms.

Very state independent on whether it could work for you.

Selling without selling, but by curiosity to all who would apply a vote. Nicely done Jeffers.

I am committed to my previous statement of "not advertising", but I really appreciate everyone taking the time to provide these answers.
So, to those that have taken the time to read my post, and especially to anyone that voted, I will satiate the curiosity by simply saying that this is not a dental service provided to patients. We help create a business that provides educational services to the public. I am basically asking, "does you lab have room for a classroom"? We are offering dental education (not dental services). State dental laws do not pertain to the service in any way at all.

Based on the answers already provided, it appears there are some labs with these spaces available. Expect to see some ads in the near future on DLN.

Good for you to expand your business model. I think a lab would be a great educational venue for the public.
a clean lab that is. That could be a challenge.

I could proly get one day a week access to the conference room in the building I lease from. Do I have time to do anything extra? No. And my faith in hiring a competent person to take care of it? Zero. But that's my fault.

Completely understood. I think this is how many individuals feel. Honestly, you are probably not going to be our target market. This is our experience with any profession, especially dentists. Some dentists say, "I have enough patients to work 40 hours a week chairside and keep this operation running. That is enough for me. No more investments, I am at max capacity!"

Other dentists consider expanding their services to address the increase in demand. Personally, I would consider bringing on associates to deal with the increased demand, and begin larger advertising investments. If I could fill my associates 40 hour schedule, the office would have the same revenue, and now I could oversee operations and continue focusing on growth. This would open the door for another associate, a specialist, or even a second location. I'm helping my bottom line, lowering my stress, and continuing to build wealth.

Some people work for their money, others let their money work for them.
