Hey all! Looking for a high quality remote designer or design service out there. Have tried evident and a few others with less than stellar results. Have been using OUTCAD for quite some time but they get booked out so fast it’s difficult to get designs back in time for my lab. I am a very small lab looking for good form and function… not the same cookie cutter crown. Willing to pay top dollar! If any of you fellow techs could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

Bobby and Hanelize are amazing people and very skilled. They have a set of daily partners that get their attention because they send EVERYDAY not just when the cup runs over for some labs. The ability to service everyone in the manner they do is impossible and that's why they implement the booking system.

Finding the right person to outsource to is very difficult as you are finding, especially when you are looking for higher end designs. Many out in the market HAVE the skill but the need to get to the next crown which sometimes mean less than consistent results.

The asian market has a bunch of eager designers willing to work hard ( we get 3 to 4 emails a day) but the communication has been the hard part. For every artist you run across there are 10 more thinking they can use Ai and get the design to be acceptable. I gave up on finding one here.

Training in house has its own set of problems for the small lab, and in the end costs more in the short term. The time to take an average design and turn it into something better than average will always take more time than just redoing it. Having your trainee watch what you touch up or do is the best training in my experience it just sucks up a lot of time and that's generally what we do not have to expense in a small lab environment.

One suggestion, If you really want to be flooded with potential candidates post in either the Exocad or 3shape groups on FaceBook. These groups have designers from all over the world world, perhaps you will find a gem.

Good luck

How much do you need to send out every day? It is very challenging to provide design services for small experiments. It requires very patient and highly skilled designers to be competent.

Yes they have been awesome!

I agree I believe it will be very difficult to find someone to outsource to that is reliable and competent. I may try your Facebook advice and see what pops up… wanted to try here first.

Training someone is my ultimate goal, but the way things have been lately I just don’t have the time to sit down and make that happen or fix potential mistakes. Things have been crazy busy for some reason!

I would say it would average out to be around 35-50 units any given week. Sometimes I pick up a lot other times not so much. That’s what makes it so difficult!

I'm an experienced designer and I know a lot of individual designers in Asia. But very few people understand English dental lingo and possess technical excellence.
A skilled designer has a habit of doing the best possible for every case. This habit will affect the efficiency, but it can maintain and improve the design level.

I just joined to respond to your post. I have 30 years in crown and bridge, and 6 years in digital design. Would love to do your deigns remotely. I am currently working with one other lab, with great results for many years. Could take on the numbers you mentioned. Let me know how to contact you, I am new here, although I have been lurking here for some time. I am set up with Sirona inlab software. Thank you!
