Job Description
Floss, a state-of-the-art dental practice/laboratory, has an immediate opportunity for a Ceramist with at least 4 years of anterior cosmetic experience. We are searching for quality conscious people to join our high-end esthetics team.
Key Objectives and Tasks
- Read and understand customers prescriptions (Rx),work order, and use dental lab operational software.
- For original products, case evaluations for proper model work, die prep & mounting, shade information (stump shade, photo, and final desire shade.),and study models provided to achieve a perfect pan.
- Communicate with technical support to relay technical challenges about the case. Assist the technical support to plan cases and or case problem solving. Work with technical support team members to resolve technical issues if needed.
- Acquire any materials that may be needed to complete the case successfully. Able to operate with motor hand-piece (low & high),set proper temperature to operate porcelain furnace, understand, and use specific porcelain to achieve the successful fabrication process and crown outcome.
- Complete case one day (Quality Control (QC) on due date) before the ship date or by when scheduled date work. .
- All cases must be Quality Controlled (QC) before passing on to final QC. Must be QC before being shipped.
- Be instrumental in the development and growth of products.
- Train and mentor ceramists to escalate, improve on their knowledge, capability to promote, and grow current and new products.
- Assist and provide additional support for Quality Control when necessary and in other department when needed.
- Be instrumental in providing feedback and technical advice to management and executives when necessary
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Feldspathic Veneers
- Advance knowledge on ceramics, take patient’s custom shade, and use information for case design during fabrication process.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques
- Advanced knowledge of safety procedures
- Well-balanced personality and professional attitude
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM design and milling
- Responsible for producing the esthetics that our customers have come to expect
- Responsible for building, contouring, and glazing of high end anterior and posterior restorations including feldspathic, Emax, Zirconia and implant restorations
- Start-to-finish proficiency in Ceramics: build-up, grind-in, contour and full anatomy
- Ability to produce artistic, esthetic, and consistent, high-quality porcelain work for smile design cases
- Ability to create custom shades and meet tight deadlines
