A piece of the firing chamber of the sinter furnace fell off, I wonder if there is any high heat cement that’s good and withstand the hi heat in there to cement that piece back? I used thin investment in the past , it holds for a couple of months and I had to do it over, I know replacing the bricks in firing chamber is cumbersome if available. any feed back would be appreciated

Refractory cement maybe? That’s probably what I would try. Investment breaks down over time.

Do you have any pics of it Tayeb?

Would refractory investment work a little better than normal investment?

Maybe a leftover chunk or two of green state zirconia can be wedged in, and would shrink to fit over the repeated firings?

I will take pics soon, I used Hercules hi- heat furnace cement last night before sitering as recommended by some repair company but it bubbles and shrunk considerably, the zir crowns came out fine though

It looks like is was rated for 2,500f, which is 1371c. It was probably outside of its effective range for our 1450 to 1585c sintering range? Especially with the long hold times.

I was hoping being not in immediate firing chamber it could hold, it’s holding the piece in place , if I could fill the gap it would help i think

Agree, especially after seeing the pictures.

Can you just clean up that opening, cut a disc of 12mm green state zirconia in the middle about 1/2 in wide with a big disc on a lathe, arbor band it down in thickness and if it breaks in pieces, so what, just so get the majority of the crack filled? Or would it, the chamber material, start breaking apart if you tried to clean up that opening, as it looks like its kinda fused?

that is the Hercules cement I used at opening with less heat it cures glossy .
I see what you saying but if I find a pliable material to inject in there

Stang, Kevin...it's your turn. :)
By the way Tayeb, it looks like a solid, well built oven.

Absolutely agree, Tayeb. A pliable fill in material would be the best way to go. My way was a bit archaic, I'll admit it :) :)
