Hello,

we just got a block of NexxZr T from Sagemax. The milling went good, but now we're facing some problems with coloring.
As a test we milled a single crown. Colored with Zirkonzahn aquarell, with technique we used coloring Prettau usually. Results are be very bad. We wanted color A2 according to Vita. Here are photos of the result.

Any solutions?

Try another basic dye, I use Lava + Dyeing liquid, when I want A2, I get A2 and nothing else ...
I only use ZZ blue, grey and orange for some effects ...

I use Metoxit FTL and HTL ...

;)

Me too.

I prefer Acidic-based stain when I have the choice.
We use Lava stains mostly.
I only use ZZ Grey, and Pink.

Some shades, we use Glidwell's Water-based stains (C1, C2, C3). They do not penetrate very deep, and are very time-dependant to get correct color. Too long or too short = wrong color.

Acid stains are not affected by time in the liquid at all! You can leave in stains for a week, and still have same color.

Water-based would make Brown, Chocholate color if left in for a few days....

We hand paint a mixture of ZZ Grey (50%) mixed with water (25%) and Lava A1 (25%) on all cusp-tips and occlusal.

TRY IT!! Then drop into base-shade....

Be careful of over blotting the Zr with the water-based shades. Dry on non-absorbant surface until completly dry! Then into the beads/trays for sintering.

Chewbacca....

Anyone use a light to intensify colors for darker shades like 4M3 with the Zahn stains??

I use the Sagemax with ZZ aquarrell. After drying for 20- 30 min I soak the crowns for 12 min under vacuum. I don't know if the vacuum makes a difference, but it's what I do. I then dry thoroughly. I get good results...usually. Maybe 95% of the time. Sometimes, and I don't know why, they come out chalky white.

I like the acid based versions of ZZ liquids. they are pretty good at matching the value after a few adjustments to the liquids i use to what shade example A2 liquid gives A3 shade for us. Once you home it in, I prefer the acid for its consistency. Good Luck

I have the same results 8/10 with my zirconia,,,,I am not sure if the Zircar Hotspot is just not heating properly or the lack of venting in this oven.
I sinter 90% of my Zirconia in a Mign Vogt now!!

Anybody feel free to jump in!!!

Ditch the lid on the crucible. It's a heat thief !
