color trios models in exocad

I just started using exocad with the trios scanner and was wondering how to see the models in color. Does anyone know?

When exported from Trios you lose the color scans.

There's no texture/color info in generic STL's...

Right. Same thing if you export Omnicam scans into 3shape. You will lose the Color.

I'm fairly certain the color or texture info is kept in the .DCM format if you have a Trios with color scanning or a D800 or up.
Its 3shape internal file format so they'll only work with 3shape dentalsystem unfortunately. You can still view the color on the stl (in a 3dviewer plugin) if you look up the case on your 3shape Communicate account.

Thanks for the link. That only works if they are exported in dcm. Stl will have no color as stated by our friend Zero.

I spoke with Larry from exocad today. He said that the color was able to be used until last summer when 3shape did an update on trios which locked the color file. Very typical of them. They keep getting closer to being another sirona.

Maybe exocad can ride on the coat tails of dental wings for a while.They have an IOS that needs hacking.

How many shades have you nailed with the shade match feature??

My friend Rob has a big issue with Exocad even thou most Exocaders are happy with the system.
