Sometimes all you can do is a try-in..
Set realistic expectations for Dr and pt and adjust as needed.

Take a dental photography class then educate your docs on how to give you the correct images that will allow you to complete a successful case. None of those images communicate anything useful. Therefore attempting to give advice from them isn't even educated guess work.

It's gonna take money
A whole lot of spending money
It's gonna take time
a whole lot of precious time
to do it
to do it
to do right.

The perfect song to sing when the dr asks for a quote.

problem is I cant tell if I can trust that shade tab he chose for that patients teeth. Neither of them seem right to me.
One thing you can do...open the pics in photoshop and eliminate the color. You can get a much better idea of relative brightness.

None of the shade tabs look right, the 030 looks a tad to white and higher in value, so it probably should be a 040, stump shades are off also. And.... I AGREE wit RKM ....two crowns. Rubber (Grey) wheel after glazing to knock down shine.
Done and finish.

Agree, you can use use just about any photo editor to "convert to greyscale" or "desaturate."
