Ive never had to do a lot of ordering before, so when looking through the paterson website looking for round carbides to die trim, I cant seem to find what I am looking for. Well I thought I did, till they showed up in the lab and they were the wrong shaft.
Looking for Round Carbide burs to fit my standard lab handpiece that are ideal for die trimming, prefereably a small and medium size. Can someone point me in the right direction so I dont have to order the wrong burs again.
Can order from patterson or Brassler.
Thanks guys.

Same as Pete, that's a small one for the fine trim at the margin. Pear shaped.
Some thing bigger for the bulk up to the margin, I use a meisinger, HM251G 060.

Why don't you just call your Brassler rep and have them come by your lab so you can try out different burs?

That's what we always do when we are looking for something new.

If this was a large lab, sure. But There are only two of us (In House) and I dont think they will apreciate a visit after I ask them for only a few burs. :)

My rep is always happy to come by whenever I ask him to. It's just me and my dad here at our lab and we only order 2 or 3 items at a time.

Yes komet was my choice last time I ordered
Brassler has changed manufactures and there not the same they were in the past
I'll take German carbides if I have a choice

Found that out several years ago reordering a gross of pink stones, inverted cone.the quality was crap and the shank was a bit too big, only a few fit the handpiece. Called Komet and got the good ones again.

I agree, dont guess on a $30-40 bur.. just have the rep come.. Youll be amazed when you have your choice of a hundred different burs.. Theres no way to judge the size of a bur in a catalog.

Komet and brassler were the same. Brassler was the last name of the founder and komet was the brand.

Komet was the German manufacturer for the Brassler family.

"1923
The dental bur factory Gebr. Brasseler and the brand Komet with its distinctive lettering are founded in Düsseldorf by Peter Brasseler and his brothers."
Chronicle

Company split up over some disagreement. Not sure exactly when.
