Hi! Looking for tips on getting my Anodizer to get to gold without having metal show through materials like PMMA or Zirc.

Anodizer I'm using is the Painful Pleasures Anodizer.
Using Blender for iBar Design and Superstructure.

I have anodized a few cases, but after luting it seems to still have some metal show through the PMMA or Zirc.
Am I making it too thin? I go by the parameters Blender suggests.

I go by the voltage on the Anodizing sheet. 63v I believe?

HALP!

might want to LC opaque them after anodizing? or use a masking cement? or both?

you need a reflective opaque cement to stop shadow of metal underneath it can be blue green yellow grey it doesnt mater light doesnt go through so you need to reflect light back out thats why emax looks blah on metal .thats why vmks have an opaque layer.

Thank you both. Any cements or opaques you would recommend for full arch titanium bars? I currently use RelyX unicem, and I see that another company has recently bought them out. 3M seems to make an opaque cement. You guys use that before?

I use the Panavia White masking cement and really like it.
for LC opaques there are a few to choose from. GC has some that I have used, Anax too. both work well (i suggest a metal primer prior to application and both GC/Anax have primers)

PMMA is fine for show through because it's a temp...allows the Doc to try everything in before the zirc is made. Once PMMA is good to go, then you make the zirc, use blockout like you would on a normal implant case is what we do. No way to anonidize the bar white, thin zirconia will always bleed through...especially nowadays, with the addition of translucency into the zirconia.

it does sound like a dentist having a go himself. but i could be wrong the relix uni cem gave it away bloody amateurs

I use GC G CEM one opaque cement and anodize the bars gold. Don't get them showing through.
