Hi All,

I create abutment libraries for a number of implant manufacturers and have recently been getting some reports that abutment manufacturing output is being created without the hex/base geometries- just a flat surface. I am unable to duplicate this issue on my system using the same library, which is making it very difficult to diagnose. 3Shape support has been unable to figure it out, and 3shape engineers in charge of implant libraries have confirmed it is not related to the library, so I am at a loss.

I have confirmed that I am using the correct encryption option when creating the library, and the option to keep the base is indeed enabled.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

There is a keep base option on the first page when you create a kit. If that isn't working for whatever reason you may need to add either Abutment base models or Abutment interface models. If you make those sections equal then that also fixes the no base problem. You can also fix any of these on a case specific level by editing the material XML as shown in the pics.ControlPanel_diherV2Wht.pngControlPanel_20edEf1FfU.pngsublime_text_upfGQk54a1.pngsublime_text_QSu3F0HzoX.png

Thank you sir! Curious how you figured this out! I just heard back from the 3Shape engineers and they mentioned the same fix.

Glad to hear the 3shape engineers approve of the method haha. We design a lot of implants and have run into a lot of random problems, editing the materials XML has been amazing for fixing specific cases. Primarily through comparing case A to case B and looking for differences, ie one implant case keeps base and one doesn't. 3hape study group on facebook also has a ton of advanced posts if you search through the backlog of posts.
