Sounds like a question for the French. LOL
He uses One of those gizmos.

(Click) Attn.....Paging Mr. FrenchCADMan.....come in please.....over....(Click)

I bet you simply configure with the space mouse software, and not in the exocad software.

No issues on my 3Shape, maybe you should of gone with that program..............................................LOL

No but seriously, I had to do nothing other then install the software and configure what my buttons are and that was it. Didn't know exocad was so harder to setup the mouse to.

Hi thewhitelab

Check for updates on the 3Dconnexion website and update as necessary, it's free ....

I think it should work !

Is the mouse works on other 3D sofware , have you tried ?

;)

What kind of mouse do you use with exocad? Have you ever tried a haptic device?

No, not with exocad....but I have had Two Haptic from Sensable.

They are gone now, so I cannot try.

I just use an Alienware Mouse. Only has a few extra buttons.

Never tried the Space Mouse?

You have to enable the 3d mouse function in exocad to make it work. Mine did not work by default.

It's somewhere in the settings. Will take a look when i get to work tomorrow. There was also some config within the 3dconnexion software.

Have you a wire mouse or wireless ?

PErsonnaly with wire it's ok for exocad but wireless don't work. It's ok for the other 3D software but not for exocad (for the wireless)...

I believe the 3d mice should work immediately within Exocad with no adjustment of settings necessary. You may need to double check if you installed the correct drivers/software for the mouse itself. Have you tried to use the mouse with other programs, not just Exocad? Try Google Earth to test...(and practice, zooming along your favorite 3d cities)

As a side note, I could never go back to designing (I use 3shape) without my 3d mouse. Took an hour or so to get used to, but improved my efficiency immediately and vastly.

yes it work with magics for example but not with exocad.
I've just talked with the exocad team and they told me that they are not develop the software with the last drivers. Also only the wire mouse work and not the last with last drivers !!!!!

Exocad and 3D connexion know the problem now. When I will receive the drivers for the compatibility, I will send it you.

Thank you, is this likely to take a long time? Do you think I would be better to get the wired solution? This may not be a priority for exocad!

Wireless mouse is useful when it moves like a traditional mouse ...
But a 3D mouse does not move, also they put a weight inside ....

So the wire doesn't bother ...

You can get it out if you stick in your thumb.
