Just keep in mind the itssoclear clasps are a nylon. Nylons absorb liquid and with liquid comes stains and smells. Clear will really show those stains. All of myersons plastics are crystaline and they don't take on liquids.
I have my own lab and do consulting for myerson. I am the inventor of the hot shot. That being said so you know I am bias. If you have any questions I will answer them. As for them breaking after 2-3 years not sure what the problem is (over heating, lower grade acetal, improper design) but...
Duracetal is 99.9% surgical grade acetal. It also formulated to be more fluid when melted which means you can process the material at the lower end of its melting temp. Both of these things alowe for a less broken down material after it is injected. It is semi ridged but still has nice flex...
The P1 is ok but not for clasps. It's to opaque for clasps but good for a major connector. When repairing you need to make sure the material is hot enough for it to melt to the partial being repaired. With the flexpress its not as consistant as the hot shot. With the hot shot the melted...
If you get a short injection most of the time its heat or pressure. The machine you are using isn't the most accurate piece of equipment. If your flask was about 150 to 175F at the time of injection thats fine so you need to set the temp higher. I have had those machine off as much as 60F...
I may be interested in one or both of those. Looking to switch to processed bases for dentures and thought this system would be good for that. Let me know.
Thanks Scott things have been great. I need to come down and see you again. Sounds like you have grown and gotten a lot of neat stuff since the last time I was at your lab.
Thanks for all the kind words. I am just a regular guy (tech.) that works hard and has gotten lucky. It feels good to have helped people and thats why I do this.
