Even with vacuum present, I can feel a burn in my eyes when grinding off superglue to do a repair. I've always wanted to charge extra for the "health hazard" when superglue is present at the time of repair.
We've done the shrinky dink thing for years. Need to control the warpage. Found that using a heat gun (ie Wagner at Home Depot)- that is made to strip paint works fantastic. We also will use an old fashioned typewriter and print on white tissue paper, the kind that lazy people stuff into gift...
We cast Wironium frames and it is my favorite alloy for cast partial dentures. We adhere strictly to their technique, we've had great success therefore no reason to deviate.
It is always hard to determine the thickness of what is in a denture before the reline impressions. Often, there may be several layers of a tissue conditioning material (ie Lynal or COEsoft) inside and then a "wash" layer of rubber base or other impression material.
I, personally, use...
If the whole thing is out of the mouth, put it in an oven (cold) and bring the temperature up to about 400 degrees and hold it there for a couple of hours. It gets a little stinky (so it is best to do it in a burnout oven instead of a porcelain furnace),but the cement will break down into...
If the patient kept gagging for an impression that is only going to be in the mouth for 2 minutes they won't be wearing a partial.
I also agree. That crown looks like total overkill: mesial rest seat AND distal rest seat AND lingual ledge not to mention there are teeth anterior and posterior...
Ditto.
The Ivobase system is quicker start to finish, although it is a cold cure (autocure) system and you can only process one at a time. It is totally self contained (no hot water or compressed air system needed) and takes up a smaller footprint in the lab.
I would like to see what the...
Very nice work. I've got a small one like this for next week. 6,7,8-splinted crowns 9,10,11 in an implant supported frame (massive bone loss). Young, attractive female.
I enjoy using Radica. It is very strong, much harder than standard acrylics. The enamel shades have a very nice translucency. The beauty of this material is that it doesn't harden until you are done manipulating it. You can touch up voids. Cut back and lay in effects, trim margins with a...
d.SIGN porcelain comes in two varieties. Ivoclar sells kits that fit with their Chromoscope shade system or Vita's A-D system. You use opaques, body and incisal porcelain to achieve the desired shade (ie for a straight "A1" crown; A1 opaque, A1 Dentin, TS-1 Enamel). The stain kit is to "add"...
