ALL on X work flow and scanning vs impression

I've done a few of these cases. I have a doctor that wants to send a new one to me. The implants have been placed. Is scanning as good or better than impression taking at this point for these types of cases? I would love some guidance on work flow. Here's how I think it will go: -Dr scans...

    Biotec Implants

Anyone have experience with this implant system? Their sales rep contacted me last week to see if we could accept cases from a doctor who is placing these. I was able to get the DME's loaded into my 3 shape. The rep said for custom abutments, they get milled in France. I got the distinct...

    Anyone using ASC Nobelprocera solution?

I've got my first case. I have the DME's, I know how to set it up. I don't understand why this is a better solution than using a custom abutment with an angled screw channel. Can anyone illuminate me or give me some confidence that this is a good way to restore an anterior implant restoration?

Is it ok to let Keystone Soft splints in the printer over night?

We use an Asig 4K. Is it ok to let them print over night and then cure the next morning? Just wondering if this presents an oxidation problem.

    Bioconcept BV Compatibility

Anyone work with this implant before? This company has stolen Straumann's IP by copying their implants, website, and packaging material. I guess that is just fine for the doctors placing them. I have a Bioconcept BV 7xL7mmr case. I think its compatible with Hiossen.

Leaving the subginival zirconia of a screw retained restoration unglazed

I had a discussion with a client about a technique he was taught for promoting tissue adherence to implant restorations. Apparently, polished, unglazed, zirconia is a great surface for the gingiva to adhere to. I like to use custom abutments for my screw retained restorations, but I also place...

    Custom abutment not seating

I've been restoring a doctor's implant cases for over a decade. Never any issues seating the abutments. I've had three cases in the last month that she couldn't get seated. One of them was a screw retained Atlantis abutment case. She consulted with the periodontist and they think the...

    Swiss Dental Solutions

I got a scan in that used an implant from this manufacturer. This is a one piece all zirc implant. It is restored by the doctor prepping the abutment to create a margin so we can fabricate a crown. I have questions...what the hell are we doing here? What does this solve? I thought we...

    Implant Direct Legacy 2 compatibility

I have a new account who sent me a full arch reconstruction. They placed Legacy 2 3.0 and 3.5 implants. What are these compatible with? I need to design and mill custom abutments. I'd like to send these abutments to a milling center I am familiar with like Vulcan or Imagine.

Can you mesh two scans together on implant IOS cases?

Sometimes, a doctor will send two scans of the implant arch on their IOS cases. One will be of the scan body and the other will be without the scan body. They do this because the contacts can get obscured when the scan body is in place, When designing in 3Shape, I can add a wax up scan to the...

    "Surgical Guide" from a model

A doctor sent in a model where they would like me to make a "surgical guide" for an implant in tooth 10. The tooth will be extracted and then the implant place on the same day. There is no CBCT scan. Using 3Shape, my plan was to scan the model and design a splint incorporating about 7-12...

    Solution to this problem wanted!

One of my doctors sent me these pictures today. They just made this partial and the patient has already broken off 8 and 9. This has happened multiple times. Patient has a deep, strong bite. They have broken multiple crowns, had teeth extracted, and broke the acrylic on other partials...

Surgical Guide with no cone beam scan?

I just recently designed and printed my first two surgical guides from a cone beam scan. I have another doctor that wants a surgical guide, but they don't have a cone beam scanner. The doctor is going to call me later so I can get more info on what he is expecting me to fabricate. How do you...

    New to Surgical Guides

I just started designing surgical guides using Blue Sky's planning software. The doctor I'm making the guide for is concerned about being able to use the guide with limited space on posterior implants. He sent me this picture of an "open" guide. Anyone have experience on how these situations...

    Surgical Guides

I finally have some doctors that want to do guided surgery. I spent last Thursday watching a couple videos from Blue Sky Bio on how to use their software to design surgical guides. We have an Asiga 4K printer and I will use VeriGuide OS resin for the guide material. I was briefly trained on...
