E.max Lateral over Zir Abutment. Crackline help....

Just now catching up on my reading... I do a lot more single centrals and laterals than ever. For some reason I'm blessed with extremely conservative doctors - none of them want to make a killing doing unnecessary cosmetic veneers and crowns across the esthetic zone. Just one tooth at a time. ugh!

    Noritake

I see this is an old thread - but we've used EX3 and CZR for several years. We started having greening issues after glaze bake - wouldn't show up before. Same glaze we had always used for years. Switched to New Universal Glaze from Zahn and no more green! Ever! No matter what alloy.

    Vita VM9 Porcelain Kit(s)

Haha! Most people don't associate that with humor... i'm usually just called a nut! :D So I guess everyone hates Vita porcelain nearly as much as I do - since I bought it and no one else wants to.

    Vita VM9 Porcelain Kit(s)

I've been burnt out on a lot of internet activity - so i took a break... look out i'mmmmm baaaccckkk! ;-) I just went looking - i thought there was a forum just for photography - but it looks like it is gone. If you can point me in the right direction it would help. Charles - good point, its...

    Vita VM9 Porcelain Kit(s)

I have a nearly full Basic and Professional VM9 kit for sale. I took a full inventory of everything in the boxes. By the latest Vita price guide, replacement costs for the contents would be over $4670.00 if bought individually. There are a few more items in the kit than what comes with the Vita...

    Photo diplomacy

I have a dentist that sends me iPhone pics when she forgets to bring her real camera back to work after the weekend. They aren't all that bad! ... by comparison to her real camera technique. But - I do not believe anyone should rely upon photographs to take shades!!! While cameras get better...

    Photo diplomacy

I have to say - that is one horrible shot! White balance is off, focus isn't good, depth of field is shallow, light is uneven, no shade guide.... there are so many things wrong with that shot that the best, nicest thing you could say is "I'm sorry doctor, but I can't use that image for anything...

    Basic Camera Settings

One reason I started this thread was to be sure everyone can get started on the right track with basic settings that will render images that are useable for our purposes. We all have dentist clients who are "shutterbugs" - some really can shoot a nice image, some decorate their offices with...

    Basic Camera Settings

EJADA, all the settings you need are in the first post in this thread - the rest is trial and error to find what works best for you. A lot depends on what you intend to photograph - restorations on the bench, or in the mouth, which types of restorations, how do you intend to light it? Anyone who...

    Basic Camera Settings

One of the things to keep in mind is how highly reflective zirconia really is. Plus we tend to photograph it against a black background or mirror. Add to that, we're using the flash - possibly set to ETTL/TTL, and maybe we're using a photo box - maybe not. That is contrast city! With emax, you...

    Basic Camera Settings

Honestly - I don't see where a pissing match has any benefit for this forum. I've answered your complaints with my initial post. If you have a technique that works for you, go with it. My results work for me, yours you say work for you. The important thing is to get everyone else on board using...

    Basic Camera Settings

Not many people I know like the Canon or the Nikon software that comes with the cameras. The companies do however know their own algorithms to get the best possible image out their cameras. I don't use them either - but its good to keep in mind. I have DSLR remote too - but don't use it much. I...

    Basic Camera Settings

Hi Paul - i know a lot of Nikon shooters who really love the ergonomics of the newer Nikon bodies. Its like this though, what fits some - doesn't fit all. I prefer the way i change settings on all of my Canons - from the oldest to the newest, as its intuitive and natural - for me. I think the...

    Basic Camera Settings

Hello Jorge, I don't have any first hand experience with the ColorChecker Passport, but a photog friend of mine swears by it. Says it is really helpful getting true reds - which is a very difficult color to get right in the digital realm. Nothing wrong with giving it a try and for no more than...

    Basic Camera Settings

Here is the thing - most of the time I see dentists submit images that are underexposed. Probably 9 times out of 10. Add to that that sometimes even I get under exposed images, due to any number of reasons - incidence of light, low batteries, ambient light - who knows. While your suggestions are...

    Benefits of using CEREC

... and I'm just wondering why this topic is even in the Photography section! Shouldn't it be moved to jokes and humor? Who was it that coined the term "Cerec... a piece of glass floating in a sea of composit!"
