Help Wanted Denture Tech needed in East Bay Area, CA

Yeah I've been on to browse a few times but when I start to reply either something happens that needs my attention or I fall asleep out of exhaustion from working so many hours. I have a lot of things going on right now. I am not a part of any online forums other than this one and am...

Help Wanted Denture Tech needed in East Bay Area, CA

Been busy working 15 hours a day. No time for online. Anyway, I have been paying very well for training level techs. I, as skilled technician, was making far less before I bought the lab.

Help Wanted Denture Tech needed in East Bay Area, CA

I'm looking for anyone of considerable skill that can sit down and do the job for 8 hours a day without any bull S interfering with my production. For 3 and a half years I've had a revolving door of train wrecks going through my lab and I'm tired of it. I have the work and the money. I just...

    Same Day Services?

Wow. I created a monster with this thread. "It's alive" -the mad Labguy yells. From same day repairs to cheap products offered by Walmart. And we've yet to touch upon the commonality they share that truly affects us in the Lab business. You ever see the self repair denture kits they sell in the...

Looks like a smoker. I've gotten a nicotine buzz off of grinding into things like that.

    Same Day Services?

Yeah. I've been told by older techs that the repairs I do look a lot nicer than when they came in. I should adopt a crap in crap out policy.

    Same Day Services?

Mondays through Wednesdays are the busiest for us and I have an experienced repair guy (75 years old) come in to help and even he can't believe the amount of piece of trash repairs that we get all at once. My accounts do not know how to sell new cases obviously.

    Same Day Services?

I don't mind the repairs or relines. They are not hard and I actually enjoy the challenge of a more complex repair but it tends to be a "when it rains it pours" situation. I've already made commitments to deliver new cases on time and then 15 same days come in. Sounds like I'm not charging...

    Same Day Services?

How many Denture Labs are still doing same day repairs and relines? We have an in by 10am back by 4 pm policy. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one in my area still doing that and we get so many on some days that every one here has to stop production on our new cases to turn the same days...

    Injection question

I have injected hybrids. Can be tricky because acrylic can get into the shafts. I try to block them out with plaster and model putty. Still a pain to finish.

Box had tire tread marks on it.

    Injection question

I have cold cured around the tissue stops before separating to get a strong bond to the model. A little messy at finish but nothing a small burr can't clean up and the mesh is sure to stay in place.

Fell off of the delivery truck and ran over.

    Facepalm cases

I've had this situation before. Wanted to tell the Doc to stop attempting removable restorations but that would just make me look like an @ hole.

How many pressure pots do you run?

I have two pots but use just one. I get more time for soft liners so I can do them after the lab closes. Room temperature water for regular cold cure work or warm water out of the tap if we are in a hurry. Don't like using the hot plate because we have been neglectful about leaving it on high...

    Facepalm cases

He's getting an A3 and not going to know any difference. I am also amused by his clarification that a stayplate replacing 26 will be a lower. As if I didn't know. And also the sketch is of an upper central and not a lower lateral.
