With scanning an impression in 3shape and using a stone check die, in model builder the models aren't meshed into one printable stl. How would you go about printing this?
Hello all!
The burnout oven I use for metal casting took a dump on me yesterday. It was ancient (Hupperts deluxe furnace circa dinosaur era),and so not unexpected. I'm a private practice lab, so I don't need anything huge, or super fancy.
Who's got recommendations?
Kate
Thanks for all the replies. :) I've got plenty to learn, and I'm appreciative of the wisdom that gets passed to me. I'll see if I can call up one of our local labs and spend the time sitting next to the porcelain builders.
I appreciate you all!
Kate
Hello all you wonderful people.
I need to learn more about stacking porcelain. I took a one day hands on course this summer for cutting back and layering a central and a lateral, but half of the day was filled up with promos and bios, and doing it once just doesn't really explain the ins and...
Good gracious, guys. I am so appreciative of all the feedback. Patrick, I'll probably be giving you a call tomorrow to discuss some things.
I am giving the onlay directly on the honeycomb a shot. I've adjusted the pressing, polished with the ceramic wheel and points, lightly sandblasted...
Awesome. I work with Jensen too, so I'll ask about it. Interchangeable with emax then?
Will do my best to not use too much SuperPeg, and not worry about the wires touching the inside of the crown too much.
Ha. I definitely take into consideration the instructions and advice I get from "real" people as well. But many times I thank my lucky stars for those anonymous imaginary experts, too.
Do you feel as if the cost effectiveness is replaced by the fact that you only have to fire the glaze cycle once, your anatomy is nicer, and you still have a nice, even coat?
I don't do mass production, and so I'm okay with it being slightly less cost effective if it means that I get better...
I'm going to give the newfound information a shot. I will stop filling crowns with SuperPeg. I will put onlays straight on the honeycomb tray. I will thin my glaze a little more. I will use the vacuum on the glazing cycle.
I'm more inclined to heed the advice of those that are here. The challenge is that I'm trying to get info I need remotely or through product instructions. Mashing all of that up and then using what I can.
Good grief. These are the times I wish (oh how I wish) I had another lab tech actually IN the lab with me.
These are also the times I'm so very grateful that this forum (and each of you) is here.
Wow! I have never seen that, but I've only been a tech for a year. So this helps it cool evenly? To understand, this is just for staining and glazing cycles?
