I lost my first tooth last year. #30. So I have spent about $3,500 on an implant and a crown. I got the implant put in the day the tooth was extracted to preserve the bone and everything. I should get the tooth in a week or so. I've noticed that with the first molar missing chewing on that...
Thanks folks! I did fudge the model a little. Hopefully enough and not too much. I boiled it three hours instead of two, and it feels exactly the same.
Are all permanent soft liners about the same hardness?
Is there any way to make Molloplast B cure stiffer? Patient wants it to grab the ridge undercut tighter. My assumption is that the hardness is a property of the material itself, and that curing it longer wouldn't increase the hardness. One other idea would be to relieve the stone on the model...
Thanks ztech for the material recommendation. I'm a little slow to respond because our phone/internet has been out for several days. Just getting caught up on stuff :-).
Hi, everyone. I have a new case waiting on me that introduces a conundrum. I haven't seen it yet, but it's a partial frame that has cast-in attachment receptacles that mate to a bridge with Xpdent VS3 attachments. I've never seen these, but the Dr. says they don't make analogs for the...
I've always injected with Ivocap. Anytime I've relined a locator equipped denture, I popped out the plastic and filled the housings with bite material or some such thing. But, popping them out was often destructive too!
Thanks everyone for the advice. It did turn out well! I don't think the matrices were harmed at all. They look and act like they should. The analogs kept the insides of the matrices from getting full of acrylic. The only place any accumulated was under the ball, next to the model. But...
My plan is to process on the master model with the analogs in it. I'll have to carefully grind off any acrylic that ends up in the way. I'm hoping the analog will mostly prevent the matrix from filling up solid. Time will tell :-).
Hello folks, I'm about to Ivocap process a partial with Bredent ball type attachment matrices in the framework, and I wonder if the rubber/plastc they're made of can handle being boiled. Will they be reusable or need replacing? Thanks!
Well, it was successful! I was able to unscrew the "valve covers" and take the little yellow/white disks out. Not having the wrench, I used the corners of some square jawed pliers to jab in the holes on the covers and unscrew them. Not ideal, but it did work. The disks are indeed quite...
Right! I suspect they weren't working too well. The question now becomes, will this reline stay in, or are the valves leaking. I feel that I'm about to learn something.
I just got a case to reline, and it has some sort of suction producing one-way valves in it. It's an upper with no palate. The Doctor wants a palate added in, but wants the valves saved. Can those valves handle being boiled for 35 minutes?
I'm in VA, the owner is in CA.
I've seen a few injectors and such on ebay from time to time, but that's about it. In my small sphere, I have no idea how to come up with prices.
