what about the design file in the folder? If it still has FDI numbers on the crown file, that makes it harder on the cam operators when pulling files because a #8 will show up in a file #11

Full arch Zirconia with no titanium bar

We are in the process of eliminating unsupported zirconia in full arch cases. They will all be Zirc over ti bars or we won't warranty them. There are too many negative factors that can cause zirconia fracture from debonding ti bases, to stress fractures from implants that impressioned...

    Business Partner

what do you want? What I mean is, you can get a paycheck from anywhere doing anything. Is the lab simply how you get a paycheck? if so its probably not worth it. Do you intend it to be something you sell? then it has to get a lot bigger. Do you want to turn it into a hobby? then get a day job...

R& D Tax credits for Labs

yes, they are a great tool to offset the tremendous work of validating new products and methods since the manufacturers often make us 'free beta testers' or 'guinea pigs' for products. however... they represent a lot of time accounting for expenditures of time and materials in the testing...

    Titanium denture frames

chrome is way too expensive and annoying to mill anyway, might as well stick to casting that... I have no idea what people are talking about with the comments about oxidation and deformation....I have never seen it

    What's my lab worth???

Those numbers are pretty much worthless because labs vary so dramatically in size systems and profitability. the price depends upon the buyer...no large group with buy a 1 million revenue lab at any price, but a small group practice or a technician looking to jumpstart an entrepreneurial move...

    Organizing multiple LLCs

Ok you know me.... Devils advocate why make 2 companies unless you have maximized one and need the second to address a second market? The grass is always greener ... in the 90s virtually every high-end lab tried to make a discount crown and virtually every discount lab tried to make a high-end...

Why do I have tight jaw muscles? Causes and relief

Wow. Sometimes those articles are great this one though it’s horrible… I almost stopped reading when it referred to the TMJ as a ball and socket joint like the shoulder… When there’s that gross an error in the first couple paragraphs it’s hard to take the rest of an article seriously

Coritec 250i vs Arum 5x-300 for small lab

Thickness of material, absorption properties (Pontics absorbing more colorant than copings for example) proper mixing and particle distribution in the colorant etc. if brushing vs dipping no two brushstrokes will carry the same amount, also messy and wasteful. Exceedingly difficult to scale and...

Coritec 250i vs Arum 5x-300 for small lab

All things require maintenance :) We do cleaning cycles alternating weeks and remove and clean elements very occasionally, probably once a year. We run about 60-70 cycles a month on each oven, so maintaining and cleaning are important.

    E.max vs Zirconia toxicity question

Anyone with an “allergic” reaction to zirconia or lithium disilicate is either misinformed or mischaracterizing inflamation from a variety of other sources (unsealed margins, residual cement etc) Allergies so extreme would mean the person would have to live in a class 10 clean room

Coritec 250i vs Arum 5x-300 for small lab

What are you referring to? We do not do any presinter shading, it’s too inconsistent and you cannot have inconsistency if you want to grow

Yes and very occasionally glass bead air abrasion.

Coritec 250i vs Arum 5x-300 for small lab

Not at all I completely agree - it’s just ivoclar trying to hang onto a rapidly dwindling niche. We do almost 3x as much high trans zirc as we do emax and it’s dropping steadily...it had a good run but I almost never recommend emax anymore - just better options and more economical solutions...
